  • Bank of Hawaii has named Kevin Baptist and ROBERTA F. CHU, both senior vice presidents, to newly-created positions as managers for Maui and the Big Island, respectively. In addition to his new duties, Baptist will also serve as regional manager, overseeing all bank branches in Maui County. He is a former board member and officer, and currently on the advisory board, of Alu Like Inc., and a board member of the Lahaina Restoration Foundation. In addition to her new duties, Chu will continue as the Hawai'i Island Commercial Banking Center manager, working with the bank's commercial loan portfolio. She joined the bank in 1997, in the Hawai'i Business Banking Center and the East Hawai'i District. She is past chairwoman and board member of the Hawai'i Island Economic Development Board, and a board member of the Lyman House Memorial Museum.

  • GEORGETTE CHING has been named a district sales manager for life and disability insurance company, Pacific Guardian Life, overseeing the firm's new Kapolei sales office opened to serve Leeward O'ahu customers. Ching entered the insurance and financial services industry in 2001, after 17 years as sales and marketing manager of Hawaiian Airlines and owner of Lindy's Foods in Hau'ula. She was most recently, a broker with Pacific Guardian Life, and before that, at New England Financial, where she was honored as one of the Top 20 Career Agents in the nation.

  • YUKO SUKAWA, former guest services supervisor for Atlantis Adventures, has been promoted to guest services manager for the company's operations on O'ahu. In her new role, she will oversee all aspects of guest services for Atlantis Submarines tours and Atlantis Navatek (sunset dinner and seasonal whale-watch lunch) Cruises. She joined the company in 1996 as cruise director and has held positions as ticketing and retail agent, and senior guest service agents.

  • WCIT Architecture has named EDWARD WUNDRUM to head its Maui office, including the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, North Project, currently under construction. The 40-year industry veteran, has worked on a number of past projects, including the Hawai'i Convention Center. For the past 20 years, he ran his own design consultancy, specializing in project management and administration of design and design-build competitions for public facilities.

  • Former interim budget director for Maui County ALAN VISITACION has been named accounting supervisor for Diagnostic Laboratory Services Inc., one of the state's largest medical testing companies. He is former director of fiscal services for Hale Makua Inc., and was co-owner of PG's for Draperies Inc. in Kahului, Maui. Visitacion is also treasurer and board member of Halau Hula Kauluokala Inc. and was alaka'i for Halau Hula O Ka Makani Wili Makaha O Kaua'ula.

  • TS Restaurants — owner of 12 restaurants in Hawai'i and California, including Duke's Waikiki and Hula Grill Waikiki — has promoted TAMMY FUKAGAWA to Hawai'i vice president/controller. In addition to overseeing the company's finances, Fukagawa will be responsible for the information technology department and development of a Human Resources Department. She has worked for the restaurant chain since 1985 in a number of capacities, including as bookkeeper, assistant controller and controller.

  • KYLE C. SAKODA has been hired by Prudential Locations as sales manager and career coach. Already known for success in the residential real estate and upscale markets, Sakoda was recognized in his first year as a real estate agent with the Aloha 'Aina Realtor Award. Before joining Prudential, Sakoda was at Coldwell Banker and a member of their International Circle, ranking him in the top 10 percent of Coldwell Banker agents worldwide. .

  • Architectural, planning and interior design firm Architects Hawaii Ltd. has announced several promotions: Architect Terry McFarland, from senior associate to principal; architect Brian Takahashi, from associate to senior associate; architects Ron Dean and Glenn Yokotake, from project architects to associates; and designers Brad Inovejas and Lester Ng to associates.

    Two new employees have joined Hands-On Physical Therapy. WESSEL OOSTHUIZEN, formerly with Portner Orthopedic Rehab, specializes in orthopedics and treatments of spinal and peripheral joint problems. Also joining the firm's new Orthopedic and Sports Injury Clinic is TIM WATERS, an orthopedic clinical specialist. He previously worked as an independent contractor with the U.S. Navy.
