KAILUA-KONA
County will run Pualani park

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i County last week accepted the seven-acre William Charles Lunalilo Playground in Pualani Estates from developer D.R. Horton-Schuler Division.

The park features picnic tables, a baseball field, space for a soccer field, restrooms and parking. No lights were installed, to prevent glare from entering homes at night.

"We're glad that we have another park to serve the recreational interests of the Kona community," said county Parks and Recreation Director Patricia Engelhard. "We have already gotten lots of calls from seniors, Little League teams and others about when they can use it."

Pualani Estates is a new single-family community.
