AT&T Inc., which formerly was Cingular, today said it invested nearly $30 million in Hawai'i since 2005 upgrading and expanding cellular service.

Last year, AT&T's wireless business built 11 cell sites to expand coverage and enhance network capacity. The company said it has built 28 new sites in Hawai'i since 2005. Seventeen new sites were built on O'ahu, seven sites on the Big Island, and four were built in Maui County including the areas of Hana, Makawao and Manele Bay on Lana'i.
