Police nab masked men in Waikiki with jewelry, cash

Advertiser Staff

Two men were arrested yesterday morning after police allegedly caught the pair burglarizing a Waikiki jewelry store.

Patrol officers were sent to the store about 3 a.m. to check on an alarm signal, police said. They said the officers were searching the exterior of the store for signs of entry when they noticed the back door had been pried open.

The officers then entered the store and quickly found the two men wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves trying to leave the store with a large amount of jewelry and cash.

The men, both 46, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary.
