Big Island police arrest 25 for DUI in week's span

Big Island police arrested 25 motorists for drunk driving from Feb. 20 to Feb. 26, the police department said.Six of the drivers were involved in traffic crashes and four were under the age of 21.
There have been 196 DUI arrests on the Big Island so far this year compared with 155 at this time last year, an increase of 27 percent.
While DUI arrests are up, Big Island police said major accidents on the island are down 6 percent from last year.
