WAILUA
New facility for golf course?

Advertiser Staff

The county is seeking state conservation district use permits and county building and zoning permits for a new golf maintenance shed at the Wailua Municipal Golf Course, to replace one that burned in 2005.

The $2 million, 9,000-square-foot structure would include warehousing, agricultural chemical storage, engine repair and maintenance shops, a locker room and break room.

The facility would be built at the site of the original maintenance shed and constructed of concrete block, with a metal gable roof and fiberglass framed windows and fiberglass doors.

The original nine holes at the Wailua course were converted to 18 holes in 1962.
