PDF: Mayor Mufi Hanneman's Budget planAnnual property taxes on an average Oahu home would decrease by $18 dollars next year, but average sewer fees would rise nearly $7 per month under a new spending plan unveiled today by Mayor Mufi Hannemann.
His proposed $1.6 billion operating budget for the coming fiscal year would be nearly 10 percent larger than the current year's.
Hannemann called it "a no frills" plan that focuses on core city services and infrastructure, especially the aging sewer system.
"We are paying the price for decades of neglect," he said.
The plan faces months of hearings before the City Council, and will likely be changed somewhat before it is finally approved.
