Rodney Ito named GM of Waikoloa Beach Marriott

Advertiser Staff

Rodney Ito has been named general manager of the newly renovated Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on the Big Island.

The 555-room property just completed a $50 million renovation. Ito, who had been director of operations for the 1,310-room Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, takes over from Nihad Kattan who was appointed area vice president of Marriott International, Middle East and Africa.

Ito, a Kane'ohe native, had been general manager of the Waikoloa hotel when it was owned and managed by Outrigger Hotels and operated under a marketing franchise agreement with Marriott International.

"Rodney's return to the Big Island of Hawai'i was a strategic move because of his familiarity with not only the resort but also the community," said Ed Hubennette, vice president of Marriott International, Japan, Hawai'i and South Pacific.
