Genealogy workshop set for Saturday

A free, "how-to" genealogy workshop will be presented from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hawai'i's Plantation Village. Genealogical societies from all eight plantation heritage villages will be present.

Waipahu High School students working on their History Day projects will also be present to share their works interviewing people who lived on the plantation.

There will also be children's and cultural activities taking place throughout the village including catch-and-release fishing, origami making, Hawaiian instrument demonstrations, poi pounding and taisho koto demonstrations. Refreshments will be available for sale.
