Former University of Hawaii punter Mat McBriar agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys today on a five-year deal with a $2.5 million signing bonus, according to the Dallas Morning News Web site.

McBriar led the NFL in punting with a 48.2-yard average and made the Pro Bowl this past season.

He also had 22 punts inside the 20. One of his punts traveled 75 yards.

McBriar punted for UH in 2001 and 2002, making first team all-Western Athletic Conference in 2002.

McBriar's signing bonus rivals that of other punters across the league.

When Cleveland's Dave Zastudil signed a five-year deal, he was given a $2.1 million signing bonus, and Tampa Bay's Josh Bidwell signed a five-year deal with a $2 million signing bonus.
