Hawai'i No. 1 in producing NCAA DI football prospects

When it comes to producing Division I college football prospects, Hawai'i is No. 1.In a compilation by MapGameDay.com, Hawai'i had the highest percentage of D1 football recruits of any state based on the 2000 population census.
Hawai'i produced 34 Division I recruits out of a population of 1,211,537, the study listed.
The Top 10 includes Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Arkansas and Utah.
The worst state?
New York, which produced one DI football recruit per 654,360.59 residents.
