Three girls born on O'ahu at 12:01, 2007

Three healthy girls are sharing the unofficial title of first babies born on O'ahu in 2007 this morning.

All three — born at Wahiawa General Hospital, Tripler Army Medical Center and Kaiser Moanalua – came into the world at 12:01 a.m., Jan. 1, 2007.

For one baby, the timing is all in the family. Amelia Rector, born at Tripler, is the daughter of Pvt. Jonathan Rector and mother Heather Rector, both 19. Jonathan Rector's birthday is also on Jan. 1, while Heather Rector's birthday is Dec. 31.

Amelia Rector was 8.2 pounds at birth.

At Wahiawa General Hospital, Luciana Chapellin-Carvalho's new daughter is Sofia Chapellin-Carvalho, who was 7 pounds, 8.5 ounces at birth. Her father is Wagner Carvalho. The family is from Waimea Bay.

At Kaiser Moanalua, Kahealanialoha Contemplo gave birth to 6 pound, 8.9 ounce Kyra Makalapua Kekauoha. Her father is William Kekauoha. The family is from Honolulu.
