Start to new year relatively quiet for HFD, HPD

The Honolulu Fire and Police Departments are both reporting relatively quiet starts to the new year.The fire department has responded to several small brush, rubbish and other nuisance fires, but nothing major as of 2 a.m.
The police are also being kept busy with minor domestic disputes, fireworks calls and other misdemeanor-type problems.
