Surf could hit 18 feet on North Shore today

Surfers can ring in the new year by catching some 10- to 14-foot surf along the North Shore this morning, or catch 14- to 18-footers later today.

The National Weather Service surf forecast calls for surf that could reach advisory levels by tomorrow night but will slowly decrease through Friday.

Surf along west-facing shores will build to 6 to 10 feet early today and build to 10 to 14 feet by this evening.

Surf along east-facing shores will be 3 to 6 feet today and surf along south-facing shores will be 2 feet or less through today.
