Post offices, federal agencies closed in Ford's honor

Associated Press

Most federal government offices and courts will be closed today for a national day of mourning in honor of President Ford. Only those offices and installations deemed necessary for national security or defense or other essential public business will be open.

There will be no regular mail delivery or retail services at post offices. Express Mail deliveries will be made today. Regular retail and delivery service will resume tomorrow.

Most U.S. financial markets, including the New York Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq Stock Market and the American Stock Exchange, will not conduct trading operations today.
