ALA WAI CLEANUP

LAND TRUST FORUM

Jan. 10 is reservation deadline for free O'ahu Land Trust Forum, 8:30 a.m.-noon Jan. 20 at University of Hawai'i William S. Richardson School of Law, which will provide a basic introduction to land trusts. Sponsors include Trust for Public Land, the Army Environmental Center, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Maui Coastal Land Trust and the law school's Environmental Law Program and Center for Excellence in Native Hawaiian Law. KALIHI VALLEY WORK DAY

A "makahiki hou" volunteer day will be held 8:30 a.m.-noon Jan. 13 at Kalihi Valley Park, and volunteers are needed to plant native trees, spread mulch and dig bamboo. HO'OKIPA BEAUTIFICATION

Join the Surfrider Foundation Maui Chapter's 2007 Ho'okipa Surf Classic Jan. 13-14 to raise money for native plant beautification at Ho'okipa Beach Park. CRATER OVERNIGHTERS
