Brush fire burning in Wai'anae

Six fire companies, three tankers and a helicopter are fighting a brush fire in Wai'anae that started at 2:52 p.m. today.

The fire is on Ala Hema, located in back of Wai'anae Intermediate School and near the Wai'anae Neighborhood Community Center.

Fire department spokesman Capt. Kenison Tejada said the fire is not posing an immediate threat to property.
