Longs Drugs December sales up 7.2% from year ago

Longs Drug Stores Corp., the largest operator of drug stores in Hawai'i, said December sales rose to $567.3 million, a 7.2 percent increase from the same month a year earlier.The company said sales at retail drug stores open at least a year rose 1 percent compared with a year earlier.
Longs, based in Walnut Creek, California, operates 506 retail pharmacies on the West Coast and Hawai'i. It also has a pharmacy benefit manage service and Medicare beneficiary drug plan through its subsidiary, RxAmerica Inc.
