Warriors to play I-AA Eastern Washington in football

By Stephen Tsai
Advertiser Staff Writer

Eastern Washington has reached an agreement in principle to play the University of Hawai'i in a football game Sept. 8 at Aloha Stadium.

EWU athletic director Darren Hamilton said the deal is waiting for UH athletic director Herman Frazier to finalize the contract. He said that should occur within the next week.

EWU is a NCAA Division I-AA member of the Big Sky Conference.

After this, UH will have up to three vacancies left on the 2007 football schedule.

The Warriors are allowed to play up to 13 regular-season games.

In addition to eight Western Athletic Conference opponents, the Warriors will play at Nevada-Las Vegas Sept. 15.
