The nominees for this year's Hawaiian Grammy Award perform 5-9 p.m. tomorrow night at the Hawai'i State Art Museum's Live From the Lawn concert. On stage will be Ledward Ka'apana, Makana, Daniel Ho, right, George Kahumoku, Richard Ho'opihi, Peter de Aquino, Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom and Henry Kapono. PETER BRITOS SHOW OPENS

Filmmaker and graphic novel author (of the upcoming Hawai'i-based "Black Sand") Peter Britos is also a painter. A show of his new work opens tomorrow at Details Gallery (1142 Bethel St., 546-8000). While his styles and techniques vary in paintings such as "Aumakua," they always say something about Hawai'i.
