Advertiser Staff

ATA Airlines said today that its planes were 79.1 percent full in December.

The Indianapolis-based carrier's load factor last month was 3.3 percentage points above December 2005's 75.8 percent. But ATA said the total number of passengers that flew on the airline in December 2006 was down 32.1 percent to 217,029 from the year-earlier month.

ATA, which emerged from bankruptcy in February 2006, serves more than 60 domestic and international destinations and operates flights between Hawai'i and the West Coast and Las Vegas. In November, the carrier said it was adding 21 weekly Mainland-to-Hawai'i flights this summer, boosting the number of its weekly Hawai'i departures and arrivals to 171.
