'AMERICAN HEROES' BENEFIT

U.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye and entertainer Jim Nabors will be honored at "A Night of American Heroes," a patriotic musical salute, at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom.

Comic actress Carol Burnett, a pal of Nabors', will introduce him at the event, which is a benefit for "Mighty Mo," the Battleship Missouri Memorial at Pearl Harbor.

A program featuring Jimmy Borges, Danny Kaleikini, Karen Keawehawai'i, Cathy Foy and Emma Veary will be capped by Nabors' singing "The Impossible Dream."

Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6:45 p.m., the program at 7:30 p.m. and the performance at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $150; sponsor tables are available at $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000. For reservations, call 423-0607. The deadline is today.

JIMMY GOES TO EUROPE

Everybody's favorite Isle ska band Go Jimmy Go will celebrate its 10th year with a bash Jan. 27 at the Hard Rock Cafe. Details coming.

The concert also is a sendoff for the band, which is embarking on its first-ever tour of Europe in February and March, with stops in Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
