High-surf advisory in effect until 8 p.m.

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory will be in effect through 8 p.m. over windward Oahu, the National Weather Service reports.

Wave faces today will be 3 to 5 feet along the North Shore, increasing to 4 to 8 feet by evening.

Wave faces will be 7 to 10 feet along east-facing shores; 1 to 3 feet along west-facing shores; and 2 feet or less along south-facing shores.

East swells will remain larger than normal through next week. Expect a new northwest swell with below advisory surf heights tomorrow, and again on Tuesday, the NWS said.
