Two men face separate car theft charges

Advertiser Staff

Two men are facing car theft charges in separate cases.

A 19-year-old Kapalama man has been charged with multiple felony counts of stealing and breaking into autos.

Frank E. Silva Jr. is accused of two counts of auto theft, three counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, assault of a police officer and terroristic threatening. His bail totals $200,000.

In addition, his bond for $90,000 bail posted for five auto theft and first-degree burglary charges filed Dec. 6 was rescinded by the bail bondsman shortly after his arrest last week.

Silva is scheduled for an appearance at District Court tomorrow.

In the other case, a 23-year-old man arrested Friday at Kahana Bay was charged today for alleged auto theft.

Teddy Munet is being held in lieu of $20,000. Munet fled from officers investigating a "suspicious vehicle" at Kahana Bay but was captured a short time later in the area, police said.
