High-surf advisory issued for east-facing shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory will remain in effect through tonight for the east-facing shores of Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i and the Big Island.

Forecasters said the wind-generated surf will be rough and choppy. Wave faces are expected to range from 7 feet to 10 feet, with occasionally higher sets.

North-facing shores will see a small swell today, with 5-foot faces increasing to 12 feet high.

West shores will see faces of up to 6 feet high, while south-facing shores will get surf of 2 feet or less, the National Weather Service said.
