Hawaii Performing Arts Festival offers two scholarships to classical musicians and singers ages 16-32 to participate in the Big Island festival in July. To enter, mail letter of application with resume, short biography and why the student should be awarded the scholarship. Singers should prepare a CD with two songs: one in English, the other in a foreign language. Instrumentalist should prepare a CD with two pieces in contrasting styles. Application fee is $25, and finalist will be flown to the Big Island for a Feb. 10 competition concert, compliments of go! airlines.
