Kahuku clinches OIA White, 6-2

Tatiana Vaimoui went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a pair of RBIs as Kahuku defeated McKinley, 6-2, yesterday to clinch the O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Division regular-season softball title at Hau'ula Playground.

Kahuku finished the regular season 10-1.

Zsalei Kamaka's single to center field drove in Jarrish Mauhili-Kaneakua with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Surfriders. Kailua's Brittany Tokunaga hit a two-run homer with one out in the bottom of the seventh to tie it at 4. Tokunaga's blast to left-center was caught by Castle's Nicole Kobashigawa as she brought down the temporary fence, but was ruled a homer.
