Maui curb ramp work to begin today

The Maui Department of Public Works and Environmental Management announced that curb ramp improvement projects on Lipoa Street, at the South Kihei Road intersection, and on Lahainaluna Road at the Kelawea Street, Paunau Street and Kahula Place intersections will get underway beginning today.

The $167,380 contract was awarded to Site Engineering and will be completed by Feb. 5.

The scope of the work includes demolishing existing curb ramps and portions of the sidewalks, constructing new curb ramps, replacing pedestrian push buttons and other work.

Motorists are advised to use caution.
