O'ahu flood advisory expires, replaced by flood watch

Advertiser Staff

O'ahu and Kaua'i are under a flash-flood watch through this afternoon, a National Weather Service release said.

A flash-flood watch is issued when Weather Service officials believe flooding is possible but not imminent.

A flash-flood advisory, which was issued for O'ahu this morning, has expired. Heavy rain along Windward O'ahu - from Turtle Bay to Ka'a'wa -prompted the advisory, which signals heightened concern.

Showers and possible heavy rainfall are expected over O'ahu and Kaua'i throughout the day. Isolated heavy showers are possible today and tomorrow elsewhere in the Hawaiian Islands, according to the Weather Service

The entire state was under a flash-flood watch much of yesterday, but it was lifted for Maui County and the Big Island at 3:30 p.m.
