State to shut down airport's reef runway

The state Department of Transportation is shutting down the reef runway at Honolulu International Airport from 12:30 a.m. tomorrow through Friday for maintenance work.The closure will lead to a rerouting of outgoing flights, resulting in increased air traffic over downtown Honolulu and Sand Island, and could result in increased aircraft noise in those areas, officials said.
