Three HPD officers promoted

Advertiser Staff

Three Honolulu police officers were promoted this morning by Chief Boisse Correa.

Major Delbert Tatsuyama, previously head of the department's finance division, was promoted to assistant chief of the administrative bureau. Tatsuyama will supervise the department's human resources division, finance, training, peer support unit and labor relations. Tatsuyama, who has led the finance division since 2004, has 27 years of experience as a Honolulu police officer.

Capt. Gregory Lefcourt was named major of district seven, which includes East Honolulu. Previously, Lefcourt, a 30-year HPD veteran, who also lectures on law enforcement at the University of Hawai'i West O'ahu, was an executive officer in Kaneo'he.

Lt. Nyle Dolera, currently assigned to internal affairs, will replace Lefcourt in Kane'ohe. The 22-year HPD veteran was promoted to the post of captain this morning.
