Honolulan Quinn Kelsey, who has roots with the Hawai'i Opera Theatre and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, has been named No. 2 of the "20 People to Watch in 2007" by Time Out Chicago, a publication focusing on the Windy City's arts and entertainment scene.

Dubbed a "bad-ass baritone," Time Out noted Kelsey as "burly and imposing ... But it's not just his size that has garnered attention: the Hawaiian native began turning heads with his wail-shaking voice while studying at the Ryan Opera Center, the Lyric's training program," since 2003.

This, after the San Francisco Chronicle called him "Hawaiian powerhouse."

Kelsey has landed representation with Columbia Artists Management, a powerful player in classical music, with the intention of gigging with the biggies: "La Scala, the Met, the Berlin Staatskapelle," said Kelsey.
