Hawaiian Host offers world's first organic-mac candies

Advertiser Staff

That omiyage staple — chocolate-covered macadamia nuts — is joining the growing organic bandwagon.

Hawaiian Host is introducing Hawaiian Host Pure Aloha Organics, a line of the world's first certified organic Hawaiian macadamias and chocolate-covered macadamias produced for major commercial sales.

"We are pleased to offer customers a healthy alternative with Hawaiian Host Pure Aloha Organics," said Keith Sakamoto, president of Hawaiian Host, in a written statement. "A holistic approach, we are committed to ecological harmony between the 'aina (land), environment, community, and people. After an extensive three-month certification process, we have an organic line that meets our Hawaiian Host standards of quality," he added.

The macadamias Hawaiian Host uses are grown using farming techniques that are free of chemicals and have been certified organic by the Hawaii Organic Farmer's Association (HOFA).

Hawaiian Host Pure Aloha Organics is currently available at Don Quijote stores.
