No sign yet of missing surfer

Advertiser Staff

Firefighters are preparing to make a final search for the night of the shoreline area near the Pipeline surfing spot on the North Shore in hopes of locating a missing surfer.

"Our guys have already searched the shore area three or four times," Fire Capt. Kenison Tejada said at about 2 a.m. "If nothing turns up, we will probably suspend the search until daybreak."

Tejada said the mission surfer, a North Shore resident believed to be in his mid-30s, entered the ocean about 5 p.m. and was reported missing by his girlfriend about 11:15 p.m. Thursday night.

The missing man's car was found parked near Pipeline, Tejada said.
