Nevada star forward expected to miss UH game

Associated Press

Nick Fazekas, star forward for 19th-ranked Nevada, is expected to miss Saturday's game against Hawaii at Stan Sheriff Center.

With Fazekas watching on the end of the bench with a severely sprained left ankle, the Wolf Pack defeated San Jose State, 72-63, Thursday, behind 33 points from Marcelus Kemp.

Kemp took over the scoring load for the Wolf Pack (15-1, 3-0 Western Athletic Conference), who are off to the best start in school history.

Kemp scored 21 of his season-high point total in the first half. He hit five 3-pointers as Nevada won its eighth in a row.

UH ended a two-game losing streak with an 83-66 victory over Fresno State Thursday.

Fazekas, the two-time WAC player of the year, injured his ankle on Monday night against Boise State. Fazekas is second in the nation in rebounding (12.3 per game) and 17th in scoring (20.8)
