Permit sought for Sunset school building

The city Department of Planning and Permitting has scheduled a public hearing for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 at Pupukea Beach Park on a request by the state Department of Education for a special management use permit to construct an administration building at Sunset Beach Elementary School.
The permit is required because of the school's proximity to the ocean.
Application materials are open for public review at the Department of Planning and Permitting office, on the seventh floor of the Honolulu Municipal Building, 650 S. King St., from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
