Sony Open: Other Isle golfers finish well over par

Hawaii golfers, Kevin Hayashi, David Chin and Abe Mariano, all shot over par in the second round and missed the cut in the Sony Open in Hawaii at Waialae Country Club.

Kevin Hayashi shot 3-over 73 for a two-day total of 147, 7-over par.

David Chin shot 14-over 84 for a two-day total 160, 20-over par.

Abe Mariano shot 12-over 82 and finished with a two-day total of 165, 25-over par.

Hayashi, 44, is playing in his seventh Sony Open but has yet to make the cut.

He qualified by earning his fourth Aloha Section PGA Player of the Year honor since 2001.

Chin, 50, a pro at Navy-Marine for 28 years, is making his debut in the Sony.

Mariano, 47, is a pro at Pure Golf Academy and Fitting Center in Koko Marina, also is making his Sony debut.
