Accessory sales help heart group

By Paula Rath
Advertiser Staff Writer

Sunny Hawaii, a Honolulu-based accessories line, is partnering with Macy's in support of Go Red for Women, a project benefiting the American Heart Association.

The line, called "Have a Heart," will be released in Macy's stores on Monday, just in time for Valentine's Day. It includes whimsical quilted heart handbags with red and white polka- dot linings.

"We're doing a lot of small 'giftable' pieces such as wristlets, cosmetic groups, a tote and a travel piece," said Sunny Hawaii owner Cheryl Schaefer Alves.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. Heart disease remains the No. 1 killer of women.

TOKIDOKI FOR SMASHBOX COSMETICS:

Simone Legno, the man behind tokidoki, was just at Ala Moana for Le Sportsac, where his cutesy graphics graces bags. The Los Angeles-based designer is back for Smashbox Cosmetics — the company's packaging is splashed with tokidoki's anime-like creations. Legno will appear at Sephora Ala Moana from 1 to 4 p.m. today. Smashbox makeup artists will do mini-makeovers from noon to 6 p.m., using the colors in the Smashbox limited-edition tokidoki collection. Appointments are recommended: 944-9797.
