High-surf advisory still up for north, west shores

A high-surf advisory, posted by the National Weather Service, remains in effect for all north- and west-facing shores on O'ahu.

According to the Weather Service surf forecast

:

iSurf along north-facing shores will be 12 to 15 feet through this afternoon.

iSurf along west-facing shores will be 6 to 10 feet with occasional 12 foot sets through this afternoon.

iSurf along east-facing shores will remain at 3 to 5 feet through today.

iSurf along south-facing shores will decrease to heights of 1 to 3 feet today.

Forecasters said the current northwest swell will gradually subside through Monday, dropping below advisory levels late this afternoon.

A new west-northwest swell due here late Wednesday may result in surf approaching the high-surf threshold of 15 feet along north-facing shores Wednesday night and Thursday.
