Casinos set records in fiscal 2006

Nevada casinos have posted records for total revenues and net profits in fiscal year ending June 2006. Total revenue was $24.08 billion, compared with $21.4 billion in fiscal 2005. The net profit statewide was $2.1 billion, compared with $1.8 billion last year.

"MAMMA MIA!" CLOSING: "Mamma Mia!" will end its 5-year run at Mandalay Bay in the summer of 2008. When it closes, the show will rank as the most successful full-length Broadway musical to play here.

STEAK & CRAB: The Broiler restaurants at Palace and Boulder Stations are serving a good steak & king crab leg special for $19.99. The meal includes a sirloin steak, three half crab legs, a giant baked potato, asparagus spears and the Broiler's top-notch soup and salad bar — a lot of grub for $20 bucks. The deal is offered daily beginning at 4 p.m.
