UH women's basketball player suspended

Advertiser Staff

University of Hawai'i women's basketball player Dalia Solia has been suspended indefinitely from the team for conduct detrimental to the team, according to coach Jim Bolla, who did not elaborate on the infraction.

"She's suspended indefinitely," Bolla said. "That's all I'm saying about it."

Solia, a senior wing, missed Hawai'i's last two road losses at Nevada and Fresno State last week. She was suspended following Hawai'i's last home game, a 64-53 loss to Louisiana Tech on Jan. 6.

Solia is considered one of the most dynamic players with Hawai'i (6-10 overall, 0-4 Western Athletic Conference). She played in 12 games this season, starting two, and averaged 5.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. She also had 11 assists, three blocks and six steals.

Hawai'i hosts WAC foe Idaho (3-12, 0-4) tomorrow night at 7 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
