Hawaii Music Awards events set

The Hawaii Music Awards,the weeklong event March 20-25 now in its 10th year, will honor longtime industry achievers, the year's top performers and the finals of a reinvented "Brown Bags to Stardom" competition.

Key events:

i March 21 — The second annual Legacy Awards dinner, at the Monarch Room, Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Veteran performers or supporters of the music industry will be honored. No-host cocktails from 5 p.m. dinner at 6 p.m., show at 6:30 p.m., and dancing from 9 to 10 p.m. Tickets: $150 for dinner, $25 for cocktail seating.

i March 22 — Hawaii Music Awards nominees party, at The Willows. Pupu buffet from 6 to 9 p.m., including jam sessions for nominees. By invitation only.

i March 23 — 10th annual Hawaii Music Awards winners' banquet, Tapa Ballroom, Hilton Hawaiian Village. Cocktails from 5 to 6 p.m., dinner and show from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets: $75.

i March 24 — "Brown Bags to Stardom" concert, Blaisdell Arena. (Competition and voting under way, via OC 16 show). Celebration party for invitees, from 5 to 6 p.m.; concert, from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets: $10 (concert only).
