The suite life of the NFL awaits By

We're not saying that quarterback Colt Brennan is a lock to announce he's leaving the University of Hawai'i early for the National Football League draft today or anything, but ...
Basketball coach Riley Wallace's "retirement" press conference earlier this month was held in the Edwin S.N. Wong Hospitality Suite.
Athletic director Hugh Yoshida's retirement announcement was delivered in the Wong suite.
Baseball coach Les Murakami's retirement announcement came in the Wong suite.
Anybody noticing a pattern here?
And, guess where Brennan's press conference has been rescheduled for this afternoon?
Yup, the place that is coming to be known as UH's departure lounge. Club Bye Bye.
Although a UH spokeswoman said the choice of venue should not be construed as an indication of Brennan's plans, she said the location was a matter of scheduling. Apparently when Brennan's original press conference was announced, it was scheduled for another room in the Stan Sheriff Center because baseball's Grand Slam Celebration already had the Wong room booked. Now, after two postponements Brennan finally gets to play the big room for his announcement. Yet another opportunity to add to the place's reputation.
Despite the postponements, the betting remains that Brennan will eventually announce, with some regrets, his departure. That with what the NFL Draft Advisory Panel has told him about its projections (second round) for him, the withdrawal of Louisville's Brian Brohm and everything else, Brennan will keep his name in the draft.
Selfishly we might like Brennan to stay put and help the Warriors reprise some of the magic of this past season. Now that the Warriors have found their best triggerman yet, we'd like to see him stick round and add to a 16-9 record as the starting quarterback, not to mention another parcel of NCAA records. I mean, it seems like just the other day that he was debuting against Southern California and Michigan State.
Speaking of which, you wish UH had its 2007 schedule in place. One that had a couple of marquee games like a USC and an Auburn that it could point to and, with a promise to go all-out on a Heisman Trophy campaign, perhaps give Brennan a little more to think about. Something a three-quarters full schedule and a pocket full of vague possibilities don't do.
Ultimately, if you're Brennan you've got to weigh just how much chance you have of improving your stock for next year versus the liabilities inherent in returning. USC's Matt Leinart, whom Brennan followed at Mater Dei High in Calif., took the surprise gamble.
Unless Brennan does the same, the Wong suite is the right room for today's announcement.
