'Aiea pedestrian, struck on sidewalk by car, dies

Advertiser Staff

A 78-year-old woman died this morning at Pali Momi Medical Center after being struck by a car just before 8 a.m. near Koauka Loop in 'Aiea, officials said.

The woman was reportedly walking on a sidewalk when a car on Koauka Loop swerved to avoid another car. It then hit a newspaper rack next to the sidewalk and the pedestrian, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.
