Island Air offers $32 inter-island fares

Advertiser Staff

Island Air is offering $32.10 one-way fare on a limited amount of seats on its Honolulu to Lana'i, Molokai and Kapalua, Maui flights.

Island Air's offer comes after Pacific Wings Airline announced Wednesday that it has formed a new discount carrier, PW Express, which will charge $29 per passenger on its Honolulu to Lanai and Molokai flights.

Island Air, the state's third largest carrier, said the discounted fare will be available on nine of the 37 seats on each flight. PW Express flies nine-passenger Cessna Caravan aircraft.

Island Air said the $32.10 fare, which include all taxes and fees, is less than Pacific Wing's offer, which adds up to $34.90 each way when you add in all the fees and taxes. "The price you see is the price you pay," said Island Air Chief Operating Officer Les Murashige.
