Elderly man falls in brush with car on Liliha Street

Advertiser Staff

A 90-year-old man fell after he said he was "slightly nudged" by a car this morning while trying to cross Liliha Street, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Emergency Medical Services division.

The man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in stable condition after he struck the back of his head near the H-1 Freeway's Liliha on-ramp shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The collision between the car and pedestrian was slight but enough to knock the man to the ground, Cheplic said.

Yesterday morning Honolulu recorded its fifth pedestrian fatality of the year when a 78-year-old woman was struck and killed in 'Aiea.
