Advertiser Staff

Two ranking officers at the Hawaii Police Department have been promoted to major in the Administrative Bureau, the department announced in a news release.

Jay Enanoria is now major of the Administrative Services Division and Henry Tavares is major of the Technical Services Division.

Enanoria fills a position left vacant when Paul Ferreira was promoted earlier this month from major to assistant chief.

Tavares fills a position left vacant when Major Samuel Thomas transferred to the Area I Operations Bureau.

Before the promotions, Enanoria was captain of the Administrative Services Division and Tavares was the captain who oversaw the Internal Affairs office and the Criminal Intelligence Unit.

Captain Marshall Kanehailua, who until recently commanded the Ka'u District, is now in charge of Internal Affairs and the Criminal Intelligence Unit.
