Two women in their 30s died last night in a traffic accident in Waimanalo.
Their vehicle was hit by an SUV while pulling out of a sidestreet or driveway, EMS personnel said last night.
Kalaniana'ole Highway was closed in both directions at Inoa'ole Street, police reported at about 10:30 p.m.

2ND SUSPECT ID'D IN KIDNAPPING
Charges are pending against two men believed responsible for a carjacking and kidnapping at gunpoint last week in Kahala.
Christopher Gallarde, 27, and Daniel Collins, 29, were arrested Friday on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and auto theft, police said. Collins name was not disclosed by police until yesterday.
The kidnapping happened on Tuesday about 4:30 p.m. after a man and a woman pulled their 1990 Lexus LS into a driveway on Alakoa Street. Police said two men confronted the victims and demanded money. One of the men had a 9mm pistol.
Police said the men then ordered the woman out of the car, robbed her of cash and drove off in the Lexus with her 20-year-old male passenger and a 21-year-old man who had come out of the house.
The 21-year-old was released unharmed after 30 minutes. The other man later escaped by jumping out of the car. Police suspect the incident was drug related.
FALL ONTO H-1 KILLS MAN, STALLS TRAFFIC
A man was killed after he either jumped or fell onto the H-1 Freeway on Friday at about 7 p.m. near the Vineyard off-ramp, snarling traffic.
The man was taken by Emergency Medical Services to The Queen's Medical Center and was declared dead there at 10:07 p.m.
Police have not determined whether the man fell or jumped, but it appears the death was not the result of foul play.

KAHO'OLAWE BIRTH HAD LEGAL BLESSING
WAILUKU — A baby has been born on Kaho'olawe, a largely uninhabited island considered sacred to Native Hawaiians but used by the military for decades for target practice.
The parents have asked that their names and the gender of their child not be released, said Sol Kahoohalahala, executive director of the Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission.
The couple's request to allow the birth on the island was approved by the commission after a series of reviews in consultation with cultural practitioners.
The parents flew to the island on Jan. 10 and are scheduled to return to Maui in a week.
