18 nonprofits awarded $8 million today

The Hawai'i Community Foundation will award $8 million today in community-based grants to 18 nonprofit organizations in Hawai'i that provide services for tobacco prevention and cessation.The grants from the Hawai'i Tobbacco Prevention and Control Trust Fund will be distributed over three years.
Hawai'i Community Foundation vice president Christine van Bergeijk will award the grants at 1 p.m. today at a ceremony at the Pearl Country Club.
