Man charged for breaking into Kalihi home

A 38-year-old man was charged Monday for allegedly breaking into a Kalihi residence Sunday at 5 p.m. and threatening a 24-year-old man.

The charge against Andrew T. Salavea was reclassified from first-degree burglary to unlawful entry into a dewlling.

Salavea, who has no permanent local address, is being held in lieu of $11,000 bail. He was arrested Sunday shortly before 9 p.m. in Chinatown.
